About the position

We are seeking a CAD Designer/Drafter for our Marshfield, Wisconsin location. This position is integral to our operations at Interstate Companies, Inc., a dynamic organization that has been providing rewarding careers since 1957. As a CAD Designer/Drafter, you will be responsible for creating detailed truck models and layout drawings according to customer specifications using SolidWorks CAD software. You will also create and maintain installation drawings and new manufactured assemblies for fabrication. Your role will involve performing Engineering Change Notices and interacting with various departments, including Engineering, Technicians, Parts, and Procurement, to create and maintain bills of materials in our JDE system. You will utilize JDE to create part numbers while adhering to the proper naming process and data entry requirements. Timely execution of these responsibilities is crucial to our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed truck models and layout drawings per customer requirements utilizing SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Create and maintain installation drawings utilizing SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Create new manufactured assemblies and drawings for fabrication.
  • Perform Engineering Change Notices.
  • Interact with Engineering, Technicians, Parts, and Procurement to create and maintain bills of materials in our JDE system.
  • Utilize JDE to create part numbers following the proper naming process and data entry requirements.
  • Ensure timely execution of responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred but not required).
  • Knowledge of drawing standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently and professionally.
  • ERP system experience a plus, but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • CAD Certificate or associate degree in engineering/Design/Drafting (Preferred).
