About the position

The CAD Designer Drafter position at PROLIM Corporation involves creating and modifying 3D models from 2D part drawings, supporting the metal fabrication engineering team, and ensuring accurate documentation for design engineering purposes. The role requires effective communication and coordination with engineering teams and manufacturing, along with a strong focus on detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and communicate effectively with the engineering team during all project phases.
• Provide engineering data for fabrication support projects.
• Convert 2D part drawings into accurate 3D models using established modeling practices.
• Create 3D models of new or modified sheet metal designs for documentation purposes.
• Check drawing packages for proper layout and dimensioning.
• Review sales order documentation and support one or more product lines.
• Participate in design teams with engineers and other departments.
• Interface with manufacturing to complete design work.
• Occasionally build prototypes for new engineering designs.
• Complete Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and manage technical documentation using databases.

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience.
• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a 2-year College or Technical School.
• Working knowledge of MS Office products.
• Proficient in the use of a 3D modeling program (Solid Edge is a big plus).
• General knowledge of design, manufacturing, and assembly with sheet metal.
