About the position

The CAD Designer - Drafter position at Interstate Assembly Systems involves creating detailed truck models and layout drawings based on customer specifications using SolidWorks CAD software. The role requires collaboration with various teams to maintain accurate bills of materials and execute engineering change notices, contributing to the production and design of high-quality vehicle assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed truck models and layout drawings per customer requirements utilizing SolidWorks CAD software.
• Create/maintain installation drawings utilizing SolidWorks CAD Software.
• Create new manufactured assemblies and drawings for fabrication.
• Perform Engineering Change Notices.
• Interact with Engineering, Technicians, Parts, Procurement to create/maintain bills of materials in our JDE system.
• Utilize JDE to create part numbers following the proper naming process and data entry requirements.
• Timely execution of responsibilities.

Requirements

• 3D CAD experience (Solidworks preferred but not required)
• Knowledge of drawing standards
• Mechanical aptitude
• Attention to detail
• Ability to communicate proficiently and professionally
• ERP system experience a plus, but not required.

Nice-to-haves

• CAD Certificate or associate degree in engineering/Design/Drafting (Preferred)
