About the position

As a CAD Designer I at Honeywell, you will be responsible for developing designs and layouts of mechanical or electrical equipment, parts, and assemblies. This role involves creating product definitions and utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools to perform your job responsibilities effectively. You will engage in technical tasks that are routine or well-prescribed, adhering to established methods and procedures to ensure quality and efficiency in your work. Your duties will include providing design-drafting services, setting up experiments, and documenting results. You will contribute to technical designs and documentation, using CAD models to calculate dimensions and tolerances to assure fit and function. The role encourages you to recommend new ideas and concepts, and you will have the opportunity to modify designs as necessary, with direct supervision approval. The quality of your task completion will significantly impact project outcomes, emphasizing the importance of attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. In this position, you will conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner, working in accordance with established Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) requirements to protect employees, the public, and the environment. You will have the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified, ensuring a culture of safety within the workplace.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience in design drafting or equivalent experience using CAD computer systems.
  • Must have High School diploma.
  • Ability to work hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prefer to have a bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Entry level knowledge of computer-aided design tools normally acquired through technical training and/or a BST or BS degree in appropriate field or equivalent training and experience.
  • Ability to work without supervision and provide technical and project guidance, leadership, consultative services and innovative solutions.
  • Ability to perform component research and recommend design alternatives and to independently accomplish tasks that may be sequenced with the work of others.
