About the position

The CAD Designer II is responsible for performing 3D solid modeling and 2D production drawing creations and revisions based on engineering sketches and drawing markups. This role is crucial for ensuring that designs conform to accepted drafting and tooling standards, serving the HTPG Division in Scottsboro, AL.

Responsibilities

• Apply drafting and computer-aided design (CAD) standards to complex component and assembly drawings.
• Check own drawings and those of others for clarity, completeness, and conformity to drafting and CAD standards.
• Perform complex 3D and 2D design assignments incorporating various materials and components based on engineering sketches.
• Prepare submittal drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the off-site designer/detailer team.
• Access and interpret bills of material (BOM) to verify components of a design.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in CAD design.
• Strong mathematics skills, capable of applying statistical inference, fractions, percentages, and ratios.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Self-motivated and capable of performing with limited supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a matrix team environment.
