About the position

The CAD Designer position at a manufacturing company in Lebanon, TN involves overseeing engineering and drafting work, acting as a project manager for plant projects, and providing leadership to a team of designers and drafters. The role requires coordination of workflows, documentation of new product development, and ensuring the accuracy of designs and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Designers and Drafters, coordinating workflow and conducting performance evaluations.
• Provide leadership, direction, and training to other CAD personnel.
• Stay informed of the latest software updates and modeling techniques.
• Coordinate documentation of new product development from conception to full production under the guidance of the Project Engineer.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet project schedules.
• Supervise pilots and initial production runs to verify drawings, assemblies, and bills of materials.
• Design and detail complex machined, fabricated, sheet metal, and purchased components based on engineering input.
• Develop assembly drawings for complex assemblies using 3D CAD software and PLM systems.
• Generate 3D solid models of parts and assemblies to ensure proper fit, form, and function.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years of related work experience.
• Experience with SAP, ERP, MRP systems.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
• 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
