About the position

The CAD Designer - New Product Development position at Horsepower Automotive Group (HPAG) focuses on the creation and refinement of products for the Off-Road community. This role involves utilizing SolidWorks to develop CAD models and complex assemblies, contributing to the R&D process, and collaborating with the prototype engineering team to bring designs to life. The position requires a creative mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that products meet the needs of the market.

Responsibilities

• Daily creation of CAD models in SolidWorks of parts from templates or physical parts.
• Create 3D models in SolidWorks and complex sheet metal assemblies.
• Process 3D scans and create 3D scanned mesh models of vehicle data for new product development.
• Work with the prototype engineering team to support new products into automation and manufacturing.
• Take open instructions on any revisions of parts or assemblies.

Requirements

• Experience in CAD design, specifically with SolidWorks.
• Ability to manage complex assemblies and create sheet metal and tubular parts.
• Understanding of tooling and fixtures for product development.
• Experience with machine work and processes for final parts.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

• Self-motivated and assertive with a focus on production metrics.
• Experience working with an engineering team and creating detailed drawings.
