About the position

The CAD-Draftsman position at AVCON involves supporting the CAD Department in a manufacturing environment, ensuring that all drafting and design tasks are completed accurately and on time. The role requires a self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining a steady workflow to meet customer deadlines. Attention to detail is critical, as the CAD Department is considered the backbone of the company, directly impacting project success and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Juggle multiple tasks and meet customer deadlines.
• Support sales and maintain a steady flow of work to the factory.
• Ensure every order is 100% correct and easily understandable by end users.
• Communicate effectively with customers, sales staff, architects, and engineers.
• Maintain project files in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Develop bills of material and source materials as needed.
• Review project conditions and scopes of work at job sites.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years professional drafting/design experience.
• Fluency in AutoCAD; experience with AutoCAD LT, BIM, or other 3D modeling is a plus.
• Solid math skills including inclines, angles, and radius.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and architectural drawings, particularly for commercial building construction, structural steel, and concrete.

Nice-to-haves
