About the position

The CAD Designer/Project Estimator will be responsible for creating precise designs and managing project estimations for parking garage projects. This role requires a strong background in construction design and project management, ensuring that all designs are functional, cost-effective, and compliant with industry standards. The position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to compile necessary site information and prepare detailed project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and verify necessary site information on BOM requests, including site CAD drawings and critical site dimensions.
  • Perform initial site evaluations using Google Earth and satellite maps to assess traffic flow and site conditions.
  • Conduct site inspections as needed.
  • Prepare equipment takeoffs using Bluebeam Revu for quantity calculations.
  • Create BOM and cost estimates for projects, including subcontractor installation and outside labor.
  • Create shop drawings using AutoCAD based on initial takeoff and BOM information.
  • Model complete product line within client BIM model using REVIT.
  • Manage designs while incorporating new information as needed during the project phases.
  • Provide electrical design support for contractors, including single line drawings.
  • Represent TKH Security in project coordination calls with clients and contractors.
  • Process as-builts and change orders as per established processes.
  • Collaborate with PMs to develop drawing details for contractors and facilitate final sign-off on as-builts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification, plus technical school and/or military experience.
  • 1-2 years of AutoCAD design experience required.
  • 1-2 years of REVIT design experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex problems.
  • Technical understanding of low voltage power and Ethernet data circuitry and network technology preferred.
  • Fluent in computer-based tools like MS Office, Adobe, and web browsers.
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Basic experience in Microsoft Project preferred.

  • Electrical and Networking Experience is preferred.
  • Strong sense of ownership and professionalism.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both verbal and written forms.
