The CAD Designer position at Volkert Inc. is a remote opportunity focused on supporting the design of natural gas pipeline projects. Responsibilities

• Contribute to project production sheets by laying out plan, alignment, detail, and other sheets as necessary.
• Use various methodologies and/or techniques to accurately label and add notation to sheets.
• Prepare minor mathematical calculations and quantity calculations for pipeline/linear alignment projects.
• Research applicable design codes and guidelines to ensure design compliance.
• Research design options and document findings.
• Work directly with engineers to understand project goals and scopes.
• Coordinate assignments with project team and supervisor.
• Perform quality control reviews of design plans and calculations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Assist adjacent groups remotely on an as needed basis.

Requirements

• Experience in Autodesk Civil 3D is a requirement, including years of experience associated and a reference contact for quality of work confirmation.
• Must have natural gas pipeline experience.
• Safety oriented.
• Must be able to pass a driving record check and a drug test.
• Associate degree from a technical or four-year school.

Nice-to-haves

• Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar field, preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
