About the position

As a CAD Designer Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing technical drawings and documents for our Spent Fuel Handling Project located near Idaho Falls, ID. This position requires a thoughtful and collaborative approach to ensure that we deliver intelligent solutions for a more connected and sustainable world. You will be responsible for revising or creating drawings that reflect changes in field conditions, performing field/site visits for data gathering, and working closely with design engineers to develop comprehensive documentation that encompasses the entire range of facility installed services. Your work environment will primarily be in an office setting within facility construction trailers, but you may also be required to conduct site work. The role demands a high level of professionalism and the ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere while interacting with clients, co-workers, and other stakeholders. You will need to secure and maintain a security clearance and pass a pre-employment drug and background check. Additionally, you must embrace safety ethics and adhere to safe work practices while performing your daily tasks. This position is essential, and attendance is critical, except for approved time off. You may also be required to travel occasionally, and a valid driver's license is necessary for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical drawings and documents for the Spent Fuel Handling Project.
  • Revise or create drawings that reflect changes in field conditions.
  • Perform field/site visits for data gathering and record drawing preparation.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to develop documentation for facility installed services.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD design software.
  • Ability to perform field/site visits for data gathering.
  • Experience in architectural, structural, mechanical, process and utilities piping, HVAC, Electrical or plumbing design/drafting for industrial and/or government facilities preferred.
  • 3 or more years of experience in CAD design.
  • Sole USA Citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using design software products such as Microstation, SmartPlant, Navisworks, BIM/3D software.
  • Ability to maneuver and manipulate 3D facility models for investigative or informational purposes.
  • Experience working with heavy industrial and nuclear projects.
  • NQA-1 experience.
