SAIC is seeking a CAD Designer to support the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDEVCOM), Engineering and Systems Integration (ESI) Directorate, Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) Branch. This position is on-site in Aberdeen, MD, and SAIC provides relocation assistance. The CAD Designer will play a crucial role in supporting the Information Analysis Center Multiple Award Contract (IAC MAC) and Task Order (TO) by providing expertise in research, development, assessments, adaptation, transformation, testing, integration, demonstrations, transition, fielding, sustainment, and enhancement of designated information and/or intelligence software systems. In this role, the CAD Designer will work closely with design teams to create 3D models from initial drawings and schematics in a computer environment. Collaboration with engineering and product development teams is essential to translate conceptual designs into tangible products, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability. The designer will be responsible for digitizing, editing, and revising engineering drawings of components, parts, circuits, structures, and assemblies, while also checking drawing plots against project inputs for correctness and adherence to standards. The CAD Designer will engage with engineers to ensure model accuracy, design integrity, and compliance with drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation. Responsibilities may include making engineering computations, performing mathematical calculations, determining scales, and preparing or revising specifications. The designer may also prepare pattern generating or artwork tapes for mask fabrication and operate plotters to obtain circuit drawings. Additionally, the role involves selecting and monitoring vendor support for CAD engineers and technicians, overseeing software enhancements to meet company standards, and providing advice on system maintenance and problem resolution. Close collaboration with design engineers and technicians is necessary to ensure project completion.
