About the position

The CAD Designer position is a contract role based in Hebron, Ohio, aimed at supporting the mechanical engineering design team. The role involves creating detailed CAD models and drawings, particularly in the context of sheet metal and automotive design, with a focus on armor panel layouts. Candidates with a mechanical engineering background and experience in SolidWorks and related design tools are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the mechanical engineering design team to perform design tasks, including armor panel layouts and detailed design of parts to meet customer needs and design requirements.
• Create Level 2 and Level 3 drawings in accordance with ANSI Y14.5 standards, DOD-STD-100, and other applicable guidelines.
• Demonstrate proficiency in creating mechanical layouts and conducting design studies/trade analyses as needed.
• Possess familiarity with weldments, ballistic plates, and other mechanical part drawings; experience with composite layouts and processes is preferred.
• Maintain a working knowledge of materials, processes, and coatings used for military vehicles.
• Work collaboratively within a small team under the guidance of Integris engineers.
• Operate within an organized framework to facilitate efficient information sharing.
• Participate in design and verification reviews as required, and support Change Control Board (CCB) initiatives on projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in CAD modeling, drawings, design, and detail.
• Experience with sheet metal and automotive design.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity with PDM and Creo.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of electronic and optronics packaging.
• Experience with composite layouts and processes.
