About the position

The CAD Designer role at Kratos Defense involves creating cost-effective design layouts, models, and drawings that meet customer requirements. This position supports engineers in designing basic shelters and making mechanical and electrical modifications, while ensuring adherence to CAD standards and project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Create layouts, models, and drawings to support production.
• Provide support to Engineers for design of basic shelters and mechanical and electrical modifications.
• Attend job kick-off meetings and participate in design reviews with customers.
• Review and understand customer specifications and Statements of Work.
• Follow all CAD standards and procedures used by Gichner Shelter Systems.
• Meet CAD schedules and budgets.
• Provide support to CAD Operators.
• Review drawings for design accuracy.
• Follow configuration requirements for documentation control.
• Interface with other departments to support the project.
• Contribute to product improvement and standardization projects.
• Assist in providing CAD estimates as required.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalency certificate (GED).
• 2 years technical training or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years CAD design experience.
• 3D modeling experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Gichner products.
