About the position

Volt is hiring a CAD Designer who will play a crucial role in providing end-to-end purification solutions for pollution in air, water, and other gases and liquids. This position can be worked remotely with some travel requirements. The CAD Designer will be responsible for designing and customizing products and system drawings in accordance with customer specifications and business needs. As a CAD Designer, you will produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings, plans, and models based on specifications provided by engineers, architects, or project managers. You will also be tasked with revising and updating existing CAD drawings to reflect any changes or improvements in design. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with team members, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to ensure that all designs meet the required specifications. In addition to creating and updating drawings, you will check and verify design drawings to ensure they conform to specifications and design standards. Maintaining organized records of all drawings, specifications, and other design documents is essential. You will also provide technical support and guidance to team members and other departments as needed, utilizing CAD software proficiently while staying updated with the latest tools and technologies in the field. Ensuring that all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations is a critical aspect of this position. Furthermore, you will continuously seek to improve design processes and techniques for better efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings, plans, and models based on specifications from engineers, architects, or project managers.
  • Revise and update existing CAD drawings as necessary to reflect changes or improvements in design.
  • Work closely with other team members, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to understand project requirements and ensure designs meet specifications.
  • Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design standards.
  • Maintain organized records of all drawings, specifications, and other design documents.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and other departments as needed.
  • Utilize CAD software proficiently, staying updated with the latest tools and technologies in the field.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Continuously seek to improve design processes and techniques for better efficiency and quality.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in CAD Design, Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Pressure vessel design experience.
  • Previous experience as a CAD Designer or Draftsperson is preferred.
  • Proficiency in CAD software AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Revit.
  • Strong understanding of drafting standards, engineering principles, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented to ensure precision in all drawings and designs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address design challenges and find innovative solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • CAD certification from a recognized institution or body.
  • Familiarity with specific industry standards, such as ASME, ANSI, ISO, or other relevant standards.
  • Experience with advanced CAD features and tools, as well as other related software like CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) or BIM (Building Information Modeling).
