About the position

The CAD Designer at PROENERGY is responsible for creating and modifying component and assembly design layouts, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and engineering standards. This role involves checking engineering drawings for accuracy, processing engineering change notices, and effectively communicating with various departments and suppliers. The position requires a blend of technical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Designs products for ease of manufacturing with high reliability that comply with customer and specific code requirements.
  • Checks engineering design drawings, parts lists, and cut sheets for accuracy against shop drawings and notifies the Design Engineer or Engineering Manager of any discrepancies.
  • Ensures all information is accurately replicated within the drawing set for shop and field fabrication and assembly.
  • Processes all engineering change notices (ECRN(s)) and (NCR(s)) efficiently and ensures complete documentation for booked orders of standard designs.
  • Attends design review and project kickoff meetings as required.
  • Monitors and reports the status of design assignments and ensures deadlines are met.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with other departments and potential suppliers.

Requirements

  • Trade School Diploma or Equivalent with 5 years of work experience in a similar capacity; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years' experience with mechanical component and assembly drawings and the creation of bills of materials.
  • Experience using computer-aided drafting principles, geometric tolerancing fundamentals, and established design standards for mechanical designs.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D and 2D applications for design output.
  • Technical competence including understanding of software, hardware, and networks.
  • US work authorization is required.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite programs.
  • Skilled in using a variety of general office equipment and typing at a necessary speed for job performance.
  • Knowledge of communication principles and practices.

  • Knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of basic business arithmetic.
