About the position

Vertiv is seeking a CAD/BIM Designer to join our Building Information Modeling (BIM) team in Anderson, SC. This role is pivotal in implementing design processes for our critical infrastructure customers. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Revit and AutoCAD, with SolidWorks experience being a plus. While Building Information Modeling (BIM) experience is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement. The successful candidate will demonstrate a keen attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, which is essential for the successful execution of this role. In this position, the CAD/BIM Designer will lead coordination efforts across multiple projects, working closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate representation of project data within the design environment. The role involves coordinating busbar services within multidisciplinary models to identify and resolve clashes, discrepancies, and potential conflicts in design and construction. Additionally, the designer will manage a team of coordinators, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure successful execution of design-related tasks. The designer will also be responsible for developing and implementing execution plans, standards, and protocols to ensure consistency and quality across projects. This includes overseeing the creation, maintenance, and management of models, data integration, clash detection, and coordination of design and construction information. Regular reviews of models will be conducted to identify and resolve clashes and potential design issues. The designer will collaborate with project managers to ensure deliverables align with project timelines and objectives, and will work closely with technology teams to evaluate, implement, and optimize software, tools, and workflows. Training and support will be provided to project teams and stakeholders on design processes and technologies, while staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in CAD and related technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in CAD and related technologies.
  • Liaise with clients and external partners to address CAD-related inquiries and ensure alignment with project requirements.

Requirements

  • The candidate should hold a qualification related to the post in Revit or 3D CAD or equivalent.
  • 0 to 5+ years experience in CAD coordination, with a background using CAD software and technologies.
  • Associate's degree in architecture, design, engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Leadership experience and ability to manage and mentor a team.
  • Strong understanding of CAD standards, protocols, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Familiarity with construction and design processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Revit, BIM, and AutoCAD is a plus but not mandatory.
