About the position

SHINE Technologies is seeking a Designer II to focus on plant systems, including process systems, HVAC, Fire Protection, civil/structural systems, cooling systems, electrical distribution, and architectural features. The role involves creating 3D models for design and construction coordination, including interference identification and seismic evaluations, as well as generating piping isometrics, design drawings, and fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

  • 3D Modeling including components, process skids, facility plans, and general details from various vendors and CAD/BIM software.
  • Creating and modifying PFD's, P&ID's, and 3D piping in AutoCAD Plant 3D.
  • Creating and/or modifying 3D models with associated detailed 2D drawings for structural and architectural design using Revit.
  • Developing the design and drafting of complex piping drawings based on basic information such as P&ID's, GA's, and piping specifications.
  • Modifying 3D models including tanks, vessels, and equipment with piping.
  • Creation and cleanup of piping designs and isometrics.
  • Producing detailed mechanical drawings.
  • Conducting walk downs of the plant site for As-Builts as required.
  • Working across the engineering organization to identify and resolve design conflicts and update the integrated model accordingly.
  • Designing systems to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the facility, equipment, and controls for the production and processing of medical isotopes and fissile solutions.

Requirements

  • Proficient use of AutoCAD (Plant 3D toolset desired), Revit, and Solidworks.
  • Familiarity with Drafting and Design Standards.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to provide design recommendations to other designers and engineers.
  • Experience with the design of systems from the ground up, including responsibility for basic design considerations.
  • Associate degree in engineering or a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of recent design experience, or a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline and a minimum of 2 years recent design experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong AutoCAD and/or Revit experience.
  • Hands-on experience or construction oversight in the associated field.
