Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is searching for a CAD Designer/Drafter that will be based in our Ashland City, TN plant. Arcosa's Inland Barge Group is comprised of Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities. As a CAD Designer, you will primarily detail piping system designs for tank (liquid cargo) barges and secondary hull/structural designs for tank, hopper, deck, and dock barges. You will utilize ShipConstructor and AutoCAD in addition to Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word). Your responsibilities will include upgrading 2D drawings to 3D models per company standards, creating 3D models for piping and structural/hull in a detail package using ShipConstructor, and creating and updating construction and shop drawings for release to production. You will also be responsible for revising linework, references, notes, and callouts based on redline markups. The work is office-based, using computer drafting technology and software, spreadsheet software, and electronic communication daily. You will coordinate with and consult with peers to design, layout, or detail complex components and resolve design problems. Gathering information from contract specifications, earlier projects, and production capabilities will be essential to produce detailed designs and construction drawings and BOMs. Occasionally, you may need to visit production areas to troubleshoot construction problems and offer solutions. Ability to travel, if needed, is estimated at a low percentage.
