About the position

The CAD Designer position at Automation Personnel Services involves creating detailed plans, designs, specifications, and drawings for a pipe support manufacturing facility. The role requires collaboration with engineers and other personnel to ensure the accuracy and quality of designs while adhering to industry standards and budget constraints. This position is temp-to-hire, allowing the candidate to learn the company's systems and processes before taking on team leadership and project management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Work with Support Modeler, MicroStation, PDMS, and AutoCAD in 2D & 3D environments.
• Create, review, or revise product or pipe support plans and specifications.
• Design components for new or existing products or applications.
• Ensure accuracy of drawings and bills of materials generated by CADD/Designers; minimize or eliminate rework in manufacturing.
• Participate in meetings and collaborate with estimating, manufacturing, OL, production, and customer personnel to ensure quality design of new or redesigned products.
• Ensure that design ideas are sound and in keeping with budgetary constraints.

Requirements

• Vocational and technical school certifications/diplomas in AutoCAD.
• 5+ years of experience in a 3-D modeling environment specifically on pipe supports.
• Associate's degree in industrial design or engineering is preferred.
• Knowledgeable of industry safety and procedural requirements.
• Working knowledge of and/or experience with ASME 31.1 and Section 8 nuclear requirements desired.
