Responsibilities

• Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
• Communicate with other team members, including PM's, Engineers, Erectors, etc.
• Produce steel erection plans, elevations, details, and sections
• Production of shop drawings, erection plans, and miscellaneous details and plans
• Create fabrication drawings for columns, beams, horizontal and vertical bracing, other steel parts, and finish angles and plates
• Create Bill of Materials for structural and miscellaneous steel projects
• Working knowledge of structural steel materials (W, S, & M shapes, channels, angles, etc.)

Requirements

• Full working knowledge of AutoCAD LT 2014 or newer
• 2 - 5 years experience in the steel detailing / design industry
• Experience with AWS welding symbols and AISC and Standard Code of Practice
• Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication skills are required
• Must be punctual, organized, and able to multi-task
• A positive attitude and strong ambition to see a complicated project to the end

Nice-to-haves
