About the position

The CAD Designer role at Morrison-Maierle involves translating conceptual designs into technical drawings for industrial projects using AutoDesk Plant3D software. This position is integral to ensuring that design requirements are met through collaboration with engineers and project managers, while also providing opportunities for professional growth within a supportive, employee-owned environment.

Responsibilities

  • Modeling of industrial processes, including piping, valves, pumps, tanks, and other appurtenances related to the process.
  • Creating detailed technical drawings based on sketches, specifications, and other input provided by engineers and/or clients.
  • Translating concepts and ideas into precise, accurate drawings and models using CAD software.
  • Preparing drawings for review, bidding, and construction purposes.
  • Collaborating with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that design requirements and specifications are met and communicated effectively.
  • Gathering, interpreting, and incorporating design development comments from project engineers via redlines.
  • Reviewing drawings and models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry and company standards and project requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate or Technical degree in Drafting or CAD Technology preferred.
  • 5+ years of design experience within Plant3D.
  • Strong technical design skills.
  • Knowledge of design principles and standards.
  • Understanding of survey data post processing into surfaces or TINs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AutoDesk Revit a plus.
