About the position

The CAD Designer position at Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) involves utilizing advanced CAD software to create detailed manufacturing drawings and solid models. The role is integral to the CTC Engineering Division, which focuses on innovative solutions for complex challenges in various industries. The designer will collaborate with engineers and project teams to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and prepare manufacturing schedules for prototype builds.

Responsibilities

• Develop solid models and prepare complete sets of detailed manufacturing drawings, including multiple views and assembly drawings.
• Work from sketches, models, and verbal information provided by engineers or designers to create appropriate detail drawings.
• Select required information from precedents, manufacturers' catalogs, and technical documentation.
• Document dimensions, tolerances, fits, and fabrication techniques on drawings.
• Prepare detailed drawing packages and determine their arrangement.
• Collaborate with project teams to analyze problems and recommend solutions.
• Plan and prepare manufacturing schedules for prototype builds, determining processes, tools, and labor requirements.

Requirements

• PhD with 0-2 years of related experience, MA/MS with 2-4 years, or BA/BS with 4-6 years of directly related experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in technical drafting, design drawing, and technical illustration for manufacturing.
• Advanced user of CAD software such as Creo or Solidworks.
• Comprehensive knowledge of welding symbols, machine finishes, and electrical/hydraulic components.
• Understanding of reverse engineering techniques and rapid prototyping processes.
• Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Experience with MRP or ERP systems.
• Familiarity with military, government, and industrial standards and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
