About the position

As a CAD Designer at LayerZero Power Systems Inc., you will be integral to the design and production processes, utilizing CAD software and managing product data within PLM and ERP systems. This role involves creating detailed mechanical drawings and technical documents, collaborating closely with engineers, and ensuring adherence to product requirements and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed mechanical drawings, circuit schematics, and other documents based on designs created by engineers.
  • Use CAD software to generate 2D drawings and 3D models of components, assemblies, and structures.
  • Support engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams by providing accurate and timely drawings, bills of material, and documents for product development, production, and quality assurance.
  • Ensure accuracy and adherence to product requirements and standards.
  • Implement revision control, change management, and ECN processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to review and revise drawings as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation within PLM related to design changes, revisions, and approvals.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of drafting standards and procedures.
  • Stay updated on CAD and PLM software advancements and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a CAD drafter, with proficiency in CAD tools (Solid Edge preferred) and advanced knowledge of drafting standards and practices.
  • Experience with PLM systems, with a strong understanding of product data management principles, processes, and workflows.
  • Knowledge as a PLM system administrator is a plus.
  • Proficiency in creating and managing bills of material within an ERP environment, including familiarity with part numbering schemes, revision control, and bill of material structuring.
  • Understanding or experience with electromechanical design.
  • Course work or experience with metal forming operations - preferred.
  • Familiarity or experience with electrical design - preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
