About the position

The CAD Designer position involves creating concrete foundation shop drawings using CAD software, interpreting building drawings, and collaborating with various stakeholders in the construction process. The role requires strong attention to detail and effective communication skills to ensure project accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret building drawings to create concrete foundation shop drawings using CAD program.
• Communicate with other office personnel, building contractors, and team members.
• Create project-specific material take-offs.
• Analyze project file and make note of any discrepancies between bid files and final plans.
• Project estimating as needed.
• Support other office staff as needed.
• Other office duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous CAD experience.
• Knowledge of common practices pertaining to residential construction.
• General knowledge of residential building code.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word etc.).
• Strong math skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu or similar .pdf editing software.
• Ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude.
