About the position

The Architectural Drawing Coordinator at CMR Designs is responsible for overseeing the drafting processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all architectural drawings. This role involves managing workloads, establishing drawing standards, and collaborating with various teams to ensure that designs are implemented correctly. The coordinator also integrates new technologies, provides training, and serves as a key resource for troubleshooting complex projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assign drafting workloads and adjust as needed for optimal productivity.
  • Establish and document CMR Drawing Standards, ensuring they are comprehensive and up to date.
  • Provide training on CMR Drawing Standards and related applications for all projects.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, ensuring compliance with internal and industry standards and building codes.
  • Research and integrate new technologies to enhance drafting processes and outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot challenging projects, offering solutions and guidance to the drafting team.
  • Coordinate with builders and architects to ensure drawings are understood and correctly implemented.
  • Conduct site visits to gather measurements and verify existing conditions.
  • Draw complex components on request, providing expert-level input.
  • Organize and maintain project files for streamlined access and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Drafting, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in Interior Design Drafting.
  • High proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of interior design principles and construction methods.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining drawing standards.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in reviewing technical drawings.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, train team members, and meet tight deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.
  • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design practices.
