About the position

The CAD Drafter position at Tier2Tek Real Estate involves working with a team of land surveyors to create and modify 2D designs using CAD software, primarily AutoCAD. This role is suitable for both entry-level and intermediate candidates, focusing on drafting and providing designs for various engineering projects. The position emphasizes collaboration with senior designers and engineers, ensuring high-quality work and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and providing designs to Engineering.
• Accept work direction from other drafters/designers, engineers, and manager on assigned projects.
• Work from rough engineering notes, drawings, sketches and general instructions.
• Fill in technical details using drawings, rough sketches, specifications, etc.
• Perform calculations for placement accuracy.
• Take data and clean it up: rendering, redlining, etc.
• Research specifications and datasheets when needed to get answers.
• Log drawings and database entries.
• Participate in weekly team meetings regarding project schedule.
• Maintain drawing records in our file management system and/or in conjunction with document controls staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor or project engineer.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One-year certificate in Architectural or Civil Drafting from a college or technical school.
• Certification from an accredited CAD program.
• 1 year drafting experience required.
• Ability to read architectural drawings.
• Pro-active communication skills, both in-person and through voice, video, chat, and email.
• Basic math skills, plus an interest/curiosity about engineering, design, and analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to work quality.
• Academic background in Engineering field preferred.
• Experience with the development of layouts for land surveying.
