About the position

Tyto Athene is seeking a mid to high-level CAD Drafter to join our experienced team of technicians, engineers, and documentation specialists focused on security system design, installation, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing design studies based on detailed physical specifications, developing and accumulating raw data measurements from physical inspections of electronic equipment and facilities, and transforming this data into precise design layouts. The role requires proficiency in producing detailed electrical and electronic schematics using a Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) system, including I/O devices. The individual must be capable of working independently on assigned tasks while also managing subordinate CAD personnel on specific projects. In this position, you will produce architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings from layouts in accordance with ANSI/ASME Y14.100 standards. You will also participate in site surveys to gather necessary information for developing Installation Design Packages (IDPs) and final as-built documentation. The role may involve occasional travel within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS) for engineering site surveys, which is expected to be less than 20% of the time. This position is critical to ensuring that our designs meet the high standards required by our clients in the defense and intelligence sectors.

Responsibilities

• Produce architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings from layouts in accordance with ANSI/ASME Y14.100 standards.
• Manage subordinate CAD personnel on assigned tasks.
• Participate in site surveys to gather information required to develop Installation Design Packages (IDPs) and final as-built documentation.
• Perform design studies based on detailed physical specifications.
• Develop and accumulate raw data measurements from physical inspections of electronic equipment and facilities.
• Transform raw data into design layouts.
• Produce detailed electrical and electronic schematics using a CADD system.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six (6) years' experience in drafting engineering documentation in accordance with DoD Standards.
• Current working knowledge of applicable military and industry standards, tolerances, and standard drawing practices.
• At least five (5) years' experience using AUTOCAD 2013 or later version.
• Valid passport for international travel.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
