About the position

The CAD Drafter position at Meridian Laboratory involves creating detailed 2D CAD drawings for machining and manufacturing molded polyurethane products. The role requires collaboration with sales and manufacturing teams to ensure that the final products meet technical specifications. This position can be filled on a part-time or full-time basis, depending on the candidate's preference.

Responsibilities

• Create 2-dimensional (2D) CAD drawings of molds, parts, and accessories for production.
• Enter and configure parts into the ERP system (Odoo) with Bill-of-Materials and manufacturing routes.
• Serve as technical support and liaison between Sales and Manufacturing to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Process first article manufacturing and inspection, adjusting designs as necessary.
• Review and inspect manufactured articles to ensure conformity and performance requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience creating 2D CAD drawings or using AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially tight tolerance machined components.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
• Ability to use measurement instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
• Strong communication skills and team player mentality.
• Dependability and reliability in work.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ERP systems (2 years preferred).
• Exceptional skills with Office Suite products, preferably Google Work Suite.
