About the position

The Pool Drafter will be responsible for producing accurate and high-quality 2D and 3D technical drawings for swimming pool construction. This role involves collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and designers to translate concepts into comprehensive plans while ensuring compliance with safety standards, local codes, and client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D CAD drawings and 3D models for custom swimming pools, spas, and water features.
• Collaborate with the design team, engineers, and project managers to develop precise construction documents.
• Prepare site plans, structural drawings, plumbing schematics, and electrical layouts for pool installations.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards.
• Review architectural plans, site surveys, and other relevant documents to align pool designs with landscape features.
• Update drawings as needed based on client feedback, permitting requirements, and on-site conditions.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and construction teams to address design-related questions during the build process.
• Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project files.
• Utilize industry-specific software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Pool Studio for drafting and modeling.

Requirements

• Associate degree or certification in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in drafting, preferably in pool construction, landscape architecture, or construction design.
• Proficiency in CAD software and technical drawing principles.
• Strong understanding of hydraulics, plumbing, and structural elements related to pools.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and permitting processes for pool construction.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience drafting for custom pools and luxury outdoor spaces.
• Knowledge of 3D rendering tools to provide clients with visual concepts.
• Familiarity with surveying tools and ability to interpret site topography.
