About the position

The CAD Drafter will play a crucial role in the preparation and modification of submittal and production drawings in accordance with specifications and customer requirements. This position involves creating detailed drawings of concrete products using both 2D and 3D drafting techniques. The successful candidate will work closely with the Division Engineer, Sales, Production, and Quality Control teams to ensure that products are built according to the latest shop drawings. Additionally, the CAD Drafter will be responsible for maintaining an accurate catalog of drawings and a digital library for the company’s website, ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and accessible. In this role, the CAD Drafter will be expected to adhere to customer volumes, timelines, and expectations, preparing and modifying catalog drawings for both existing and new products. The position also requires the preparation of product assembly or shop drawings as needed for the sales staff, as well as special drawings for plant projects. The CAD Drafter will update and maintain a digital database, including cloud servers and hard copies of engineering documents, and may be assigned other duties as necessary to support the team and the organization’s goals.

Responsibilities

  • Create Submittal and Production Drawings of concrete products using 2D or 3D drafting.
  • Adhere to customer (Internal and External) volumes, timelines and expectations.
  • Prepare, modify, and maintain accurate catalog drawings from existing and new products for production and Quality Control.
  • Prepare product assembly or shop drawings for existing/new products as needed for sales staff and special drawings for plant projects as needed.
  • Update/maintain digital database, i.e. cloud server, hard-copies and engineering documents.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant structural or manufacturing experience with AutoCAD.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret sketches, construction, and civil plans.
  • Ability to review and understand contract drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to handle several projects at once with minimum help or guidelines from the department from start to finish.
