About the position

Keith Company engineers and manufactures state of the art industrial furnaces, kilns, and ovens that are sold to domestic and international customers. We are currently seeking a CAD Drafter to join our team. This position reports to the Engineering Manager and involves day-to-day operations that are critical to our engineering processes. The CAD Drafter will be responsible for creating engineering drawings, sketches, layouts, and bills of materials using the SolidWorks CAD system. The role requires the ability to create both preliminary and detailed models and drawings, assisting with moderately complex engineering mechanical products, parts, components, and assemblies for thermal processing, automation, and process machinery. The CAD Drafter will also need to generate 3D models from 2D drawings and validate these models and drawings back to the Engineering Team. Consistency in following CAD drafting procedures to create drawing views and dimensions is essential. The role includes computing angles, weights, surface areas, and radii, as well as selecting hole diameters, clearances, and tolerances appropriate for specific applications. Performing tasks according to engineering principles is crucial to ensure that CAD outputs are accurate and complete. Knowledge about drawings, borders, titles, BOMs, revision notices, and red line mark-ups is necessary.
