About the position

The CAD Drafter position at CoolSys involves creating design specifications for HVAC projects, collaborating with the estimating team, and ensuring compliance with safety practices. Responsibilities

• Draw design specification plans for HVAC projects.
• Take input from the estimating team to design mechanical drawings showing ductwork design and equipment settings.
• Assist in procuring permits for HVAC projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or completion from a trade program or technical school.
• 3+ years of experience as a construction drafter, refrigeration, HVAC, or in a related industry/trade preferred.
• Knowledge of job site safety and ability to perform work in accordance with safe work practices and rules.
• Ability to use basic power and hand tools including drills, fuel gas tools, electrical meters, and measurement tools.
• Punctual and dependable work ethic.
• Ability to work in various conditions including scaling ladders, outdoors in varying temperatures, and in noisy environments.
• Basic mathematical skills including fractional addition/subtraction, multiplication, division, and measurements.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work constructively in a team environment and follow instructions from senior technicians.
• Understanding of company policies and procedures, as well as applicable State and Federal laws.
• Good driving record.
