About the position

The CAD Drafter at Lindsay Concrete Products will work under the direction of the Process Control Manager to provide essential support to Project Managers. This role involves preparing a variety of technical drawings, including routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and designs. The CAD Drafter will utilize computer-assisted design and drafting (AutoCAD) software to develop and refine designs, ensuring that all drawings meet the necessary specifications and standards. In this position, the CAD Drafter will be responsible for creating and revising production drawings, which include both detail and assembly drawings. This involves making final sketches of proposed drawings, checking dimensions of parts, materials to be used, and the relationship of one part to another, as well as the overall structure or project. The role requires the ability to sketch rough layouts of products and compute various technical specifications such as angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages, and locations of holes. Additionally, the CAD Drafter will draft detailed multiview drawings of products and draw finished designs from sketches. Maintaining an organized file system for production drawings is crucial, as is the ability to communicate effectively with Fabrication, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams regarding new and revised prints. The role also involves researching and applying city, county, and state design standards and specifications, as well as creating engineered drawings from existing manufactured parts or assemblies. The CAD Drafter will assist supervisors and Project Managers in creating submittal information and must have a solid understanding of revision levels and ongoing drawing improvements.
