About the position

The CAD Drafter position at LMI Systems LLC involves creating and modifying designs for electrical, Audio Visual (AV), Access Control, and CCTV systems using AutoCAD and Revit. The role requires collaboration with engineers and project managers to ensure accurate project delivery and involves producing detailed CAD drawings, schematics, and as-built documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed CAD drawings for electrical, AV, Access Control, and CCTV systems, including power distribution, lighting, low voltage, and telecom systems.
  • Develop and modify electrical schematics, floor plans, and single-line diagrams for various systems.
  • Create CAD drawings for Access Control systems, including door control, security monitoring, and intercom designs.
  • Draft CCTV system layouts, including camera placements, wiring diagrams, and related infrastructure.
  • Prepare as-built drawings to accurately reflect any changes or modifications made during installation or construction.
  • Produce shop drawings based on design specifications for contractors, ensuring clarity and precision for installation.
  • Work closely with engineers and designers to translate project requirements into accurate drawings.
  • Revise and update CAD drawings based on project changes or client feedback.
  • Perform quality control on drafted designs to verify accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain organized drawing files and documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Assist in preparing design and construction documentation packages for project teams and clients.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in CAD drafting, ideally in electrical, AV, Access Control, or CCTV systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software (Revit).
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, Audio Visual (AV), Access Control, and CCTV system components.
  • Experience in preparing as-built and shop drawings for installation and construction.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Revit (1 year preferred).
