About the position

The CAD Drafter position at Actalent involves hands-on contributions to the product development cycle, focusing on designing power electronics hardware for military systems. The role requires collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams to create technical drawings and documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Using CAD software, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks, to prepare technical drawings
• Working with engineers and other professionals to produce drawings that meet their specifications
• Writing related technical documents such as material lists and cost estimates
• Ensuring that all drawings are accurate and meet industry standards
• Maintaining a library of standard drawing templates
• Updating existing drawings as new information becomes available
• Managing and controlling documentation in a timely, efficient manner following internal ISO9001:2015 / AS9100:2016 procedures
• Supporting all the above in an organized, efficient, and safe manner with clear communications in oral, written, and non-verbal forms

Requirements

• Extensive working knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks
• Trained and experienced with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) rules
• Ability to analyze design sketches and specifications to create technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail to ensure drawings are accurate according to specifications
• Communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals
• Time management skills to work with multiple projects and competing deadlines
• Knowledge of engineering practices and industry standards

Nice-to-haves

• AS in CAD Design or Engineering
• 5 years of industry experience with CAD drafting and technical training
