About the position

The CAD Drafter at Addison Construction Supply, Inc. is responsible for producing shop drawings from contract drawings to facilitate the placement of reinforcing steel (rebar). This role involves coordinating material orders, generating bar lists for fabrication, and maximizing shop activity through effective scheduling. The position requires interaction with customers and demands a strong understanding of CAD design and drafting, particularly in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Produce shop drawings from contract drawings using RebarCAD/AutoCAD.
• Coordinate material ordering with customers and generate bar lists for fabrication.
• Maximize shop activity by scheduling fabrication with the shop manager.
• Work effectively with customers of various personality types.

Requirements

• Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting from an accredited school or college or equivalent training and work experience.
• At least two years of experience in drafting within the construction industry is preferred.
• Experience producing rebar placing drawings is a significant plus.
• Familiarity with reading structural and architectural blueprints.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to physically work in Tacoma, WA.
