About the position

Ofab is immediately seeking a CAD Draftsman for our 1st Shift, Monday to Friday (7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with an hour lunch). The CAD Draftsman will provide engineering and drafting services to other Ofab departments and to customers. This role requires a full working knowledge of SolidWorks, with a minimum of 3 years of experience. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Excel, and should be familiar with metal working practices and procedures. The position is based in Ocala, FL, and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing customer drawings for accuracy and redraw in SolidWorks, if necessary.
• Revising Ofab drawings to suit customer revisions as required.
• Consult with customers at design stage to ensure product designs are within Ofab capabilities.
• Contact customers to resolve conflicts and errors on customer drawings.
• Reverse engineering existing parts and prepare SolidWorks drawings for production.
• Prepare DWG format drawings for laser/burn table programmers as required.
• Check drawings produced by other drafters for accuracy and content.
• Maintain various records, drawing number register, project status, project records, etc.
• Complete work in a timely manner.
• Responsible for working in a safe manner including wearing required safety equipment.
• Responsible for reporting any safety issues.
• Responsible for working in a positive manner and supporting co-workers.
• Responsible for beginning work on time and keeping absences to a minimum.
• Responsible for all other duties as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience in SolidWorks design.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in CAD Design.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with metal working practices and procedures.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Ability to relocate to Ocala, FL 34470 before starting work.
