About the position

The CAD Interior Designer at Continental Services is responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D designs for various projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client specifications. This role involves collaborating with team members and departments to translate site surveys into accurate floor plans and drawings, while also managing project timelines and documentation. The designer will work closely with the space planning director and interior designers, occasionally conducting fieldwork to support project needs.

Responsibilities

• Design or redesign drawings and layouts based on specifications that adhere to company and industry standards.
• Draw, specify, and notate FFE in drawings and specification schedules.
• Create millwork shop drawings per vendor direction.
• Read, comprehend, and correct 2D and 3D drawings.
• Process CAD draw requests and change orders by preparing and reviewing required documents.
• Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and vendors.
• Maintain and track project schedules and deadlines.
• Understand the construction budget and its relation to CAD design.
• Document existing conditions and produce Scope of Work and Basic Costing.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of design software.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a builder, architecture, or interior design role.
• Ability to visualize and create effective designs based on specifications.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Sketchup and Vray or other 3D rendering software.
• Familiarity with MEP requirements and architectural standards.
