About the position

The CAD Manager will lead a team of CAD designers to provide efficient design and drawing services to RealTruck's Engineering teams across North America. This role involves managing CAD systems, overseeing design processes, and coordinating with external design resources. The manager will also handle PDM system administration, maintain CAD standards, and support product development through 3D scanning and printing services.

Responsibilities

• Direct workload activities for the team to ensure projects are resourced adequately for on-time delivery.
• Manage outside design vendors, both domestically and internationally, to provide project support when needed.
• Oversee the scheduling, coordination, and 3D scanning of vehicles for reverse engineering purposes.
• Coach, mentor, guide, and provide constructive feedback to the team.
• Work with IT to manage CAD Systems (Solidworks, NX, Catia) and PDM System (EPDM).
• Develop and maintain standard templates and tools for all design teams.
• Create innovative design concepts and complete product designs in 3D and drawing release.
• Support OEM teams as necessary, interfacing with major truck manufacturers.
• Lead and engage in troubleshooting with the team to develop options for success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent education and experience required.
• 5+ years of experience in design required.
• 1-3 years of experience managing a team required.
• Experience in CAD and PDM system administration required.
• Experience with 3D scanning, cloud point, and post-scan software solutions required.
• Experience with 3D printing and maintenance.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in NX, Catia, Creo is a plus.
