About the position

The CAD Operator/Drafter position at Tetra Tech involves collaborating with Project Managers and Engineers to prepare and manage construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D. The role requires the ability to create, modify, and update drawings while adhering to company standards and client requirements. The position is essential for ensuring high-quality project documentation and successful project completion across multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to set up, prepare and manage construction drawings.
• Prepare dimensional drawings, create, and modify base drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes.
• Create and manage electronic document file structure, naming conventions in accordance with company standards.
• Prepare project documents from beginning to end with professional quality output.
• Work on multiple projects at the same time to successful completion.
• Follow CAD standards, whether the customer's or Tetra Tech's.
• Work with project teams on drawings that meet and exceed the customer's requirements (bid and submittal phase).

Requirements

• Associate degree in CAD drafting or related field from a technical trade school or training through a certified Autodesk Training Program in Civil 3D.
• At least two years of related work experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Experience using Autodesk Civil 3D for civil drawing and following client standards.
• Experience working with feature lines, grading objects, survey points, profiles, surfaces, and pipe networks.
• Experience using Civil 3D labels is a must.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience designing ADA curb ramps is preferred.
