About the position

The CAD Operator at IntraWorks will play a crucial role in the electrical construction process by producing and updating detailed electrical drawings and plans. This position requires collaboration with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure accurate designs that meet project specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD software and electrical construction, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, modify, and update detailed CAD drawings, layouts, and schematics for electrical construction projects
• Interpret blueprints, plans, and electrical specifications to develop accurate CAD models
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure designs align with project requirements and standards
• Conduct site visits as necessary to understand project needs and gather data
• Maintain documentation and version control of CAD files
• Review and correct designs to ensure adherence to industry standards and client requirements
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design issues during project execution

Requirements

• Proven experience as a CAD Operator with a focus on electrical construction projects
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or other industry-standard CAD programs)
• Solid understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and construction techniques
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members
• Relevant certifications or technical training in CAD or electrical engineering is a plus

Nice-to-haves

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in CAD design within the electrical construction industry
• Familiarity with building codes, electrical standards, and construction practices
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
