About the position

Volt is immediately hiring for a CAD Administrator in Spokane, Washington. As a CAD Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining CAD systems, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of design processes, and supporting the engineering and production teams. This role requires a deep understanding of CAD software, strong organizational skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. You will play a crucial role in assisting in the development of process improvements that enhance productivity and streamline workflows. In this position, you will utilize your in-depth knowledge and expertise in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or other industry-specific tools. You will administer and maintain CAD software and hardware, including installation, upgrades, and licensing. Your experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems will be essential, as you will manage data storage, version control, and access rights. You will also develop and implement CAD standards, best practices, and workflows to optimize design efficiency using industry standards as a guide. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and security of CAD data across projects, continuously seeking opportunities to improve CAD processes, workflows, and system integration. You will evaluate and recommend new CAD tools and technologies to enhance productivity and lead or participate in CAD-related projects, including system upgrades, process automation, and software evaluations. Additionally, you will diagnose and resolve technical issues related to CAD software and hardware, working closely with IT and software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve problems. Monitoring system performance and making recommendations for improvements will also be part of your role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain CAD systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency of design processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a CAD Administrator, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer-Aided Design, or a related field or equivalent experience in addition to the 3-5 years.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and support users at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Skills in scripting languages (e.g., VBA, Python) to automate repetitive tasks and improve CAD workflows.
  • Familiarity with engineering concepts, materials, and manufacturing processes related to the industry.
  • Ability to lead CAD-related projects or initiatives.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA) are preferred.
