About the position

The CAD System Manager is responsible for installing and supporting all CAD software products used by the Design and Development team at the Missouri Department of Conservation. This role involves managing the CAD team, developing software and training budgets, and optimizing software and hardware configurations for Autodesk integration. The position requires providing user support, maintaining document management, and implementing enterprise CAD standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install and support all CAD software products used by Design and Development.
  • Manage and lead the CAD team.
  • Develop software and training budgets and programs.
  • Manage CAD software network licenses and supplies inventory for system hardware.
  • Optimize operating system, network configuration, and peripheral software for Autodesk integration.
  • Customize, configure, install, evaluate, and maintain Autodesk software packages, code, service packs, patches, drivers, upgrades, etc.
  • Provide on-site user support including troubleshooting, file translation and/or repair and coordination of system hardware service.
  • Coordinate project assignments, provide input, and keep current on project priorities, work assignments and scheduling.
  • Maintain document management including electronic archival of construction plans and As-builts.
  • Manage drawing corrections and revisions.
  • Create and distribute standards, FAQs, etc., as needed.
  • Implement enterprise CAD standards and customized symbols, templates, tool palettes and streamlined process automation.
  • Supervise the daily activities of staff.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Drafting, Engineering Design & Development, Architectural & Mechanical Design, Design Drafting Technology or related field.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Autodesk software products, such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Basic programming fundamentals and server/network technology experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
