About the position

The CAD Technician/Project Manager oversees and manages projects related to Computer-Aided Design (CAD) within the company. This role involves utilizing AutoCAD software to create detailed drawings, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring that projects are completed within specified timelines while maintaining accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Generate detailed technical drawings, schematics, and plans using CAD software.
  • Modify existing drawings based on specifications and feedback.
  • Ensure accuracy and precision in all drawings, travelers, and inspection forms to meet industry standards and project requirements.
  • Perform thorough quality checks on your own work and that of others.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to understand project requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to incorporate feedback and make necessary adjustments.
  • Stay updated on the latest AutoCAD software and tools.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using AutoCAD software to create 2D drawings.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for drawings and designs.
  • Organize and manage drawing files and related documentation.
  • Create inspection and calibration forms and bubble drawings for production use.
  • Organize and compile the job traveler folder to release to the shop floor.
  • Identify and address design issues or conflicts within the project.
  • Ensure that drawings comply with industry standards, QMS procedures, regulations, customer specifications, and company guidelines.
  • Coordinate with other departments and professionals involved in a project.
  • Run meetings to ensure projects stick to schedule.
  • Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Prioritize tasks and allocate time appropriately to meet customer deadlines.
  • Take responsibility for performance results by accepting full ownership of issues, problems, and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology, CAD, or a related field required.
  • Excellent skills in creating precise and detailed technical drawings and schematics.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all design work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address design challenges and production issues.
  • Proficiency in using computers and CAD-related software.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
