About the position

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is seeking a motivated CADD Drafter/Designer to join their team. The role involves performing electrical and physical drafting and design work for electrical substations and renewable energy projects, including photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and wind facilities. The successful candidate will utilize AutoCAD and/or MicroStation to create detailed drawings and schematics, ensuring clear representation of facilities and compliance with project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Preparing complete drawings of utility scale BESS or PV layouts, facilities, or general arrangements including section and detail views and profiles.
• Preparing electrical single lines, aux power, SCADA wiring drawings.
• Preparation of project drawings through preliminary selection of alternatives, layouts, and arrangements.
• Preparation of BOMs and using Excel tools to quantify lengths, parts, and pieces.
• Demonstrating personal development of technical knowledge through interface with the engineering departments in the execution and review of project assignments.
• Assisting in the training and advancement of skills for other, less-experienced designing and drafting department personnel.
• Preparing complete drawings of structures, layouts, facilities, or general arrangements including section and detail views and profiles for substations.
• Preparing electrical single lines, AC & DC schematics, and wiring drawings.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience drafting and/or designing electrical PV facilities, Wind facilities, BESS yards, or substations, including schematics, wiring diagrams, physical layout, and facility design.
• Proven effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Results-oriented with the ability to complete design assignments with minimal direction.
• Effective in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic with attention to detail, quality, schedule, and budget.
