About the position

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is seeking a motivated CADD Drafter to join their Tucson, AZ office. The role involves providing drafting support to design teams for substation and transmission line projects ranging from 34.5 kV to 500 kV. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a project manager or engineer, utilizing computer-aided drafting tools to assist in the design of electrical infrastructure projects. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate closely with experienced project engineers and managers while developing various design drawings and layouts.

Responsibilities

• Perform designer/drafting work manually or using a computer, requiring knowledge of drafting methods and techniques.
• Utilize a recognized system of symbols, legends, shadings, lines, and layering in accordance with ECI Drafting Standards.
• Prepare as-built drawings from red-line copies.
• Create error-free revisions of preexisting CAD files.
• Handle a variety of assignments including drawing reproduction and managing material supplies.

Requirements

• College degree in an acceptable curriculum or a two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design.
• Minimum of two years of concentrated on-the-job experience in the computer-aided drafting/design field.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of organizational skills.
• Ability to work with confidential information and exercise independent judgment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Substation Design Suite and Inventor skills.
• Substation design experience.
