About the position

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a keen eye for detail. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for processing transactions accurately, assisting customers with their purchases, and ensuring a clean and organized checkout area. Your role is vital in creating a positive shopping experience for our customers while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their shopping experience.
• Accurately process sales transactions using the point-of-sale system.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions efficiently while adhering to company policies.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, including sanitizing surfaces as needed.
• Help customers with inquiries regarding products, promotions, or store policies.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure that food items are properly stocked and displayed.
• Perform basic math calculations to assist with retail math tasks as necessary.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail or food service is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
• Knowledge of culinary practices and food safety standards is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting as needed.
