The Cafeteria Assistant/Bus Driver role at Wayne County Public Schools involves assisting in food preparation, service, and maintaining cleanliness in the cafeteria while also serving as a bus driver when required. Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of food.
• Clean and wash dishes and equipment.
• Collect money and ID cards during meals, and report on lunches and collections.
• Tabulate paid, free, and reduced price meal counts.
• Participate in training programs.
• Keep the area neat and clean.
• Perform related duties as requested by the Director or supervisor.

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Maintain appropriate bus driver certification as prescribed by the State Board of Education.
• Demonstrate functional knowledge of basic principles of food cookery.
• Demonstrate functional knowledge of food service equipment.
• Ability to follow written recipes and instructions.
• Ability to operate various kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Ability to operate a computer and calculator accurately.
