The Cafeteria Support Worker at Bob Hope School is responsible for preparing and serving food in a school cafeteria setting. The role involves food preparation, serving meals, and ensuring cleanliness in the kitchen and storage areas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality food for breakfast, lunch, and snack items as assigned by the manager.
• Replenish food during serving time and serve food according to meal schedules.
• Store and handle food items and supplies safely according to established procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized storage area and keep garbage collection containers neat and sanitary.
• Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety standards and follow established cleanliness protocols.
• Handle and record cashier functions accurately and assist with deliveries.
• Maintain daily food preparation records and promote teamwork with fellow staff members.
• Complete annual training requirements and rotate positions in the kitchen as assigned.
• Report accidents and potential safety hazards to the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification from an ANSI accredited program or obtained during employment.
• Working knowledge of industrial kitchen equipment and food production.
• Ability to follow instructions and knowledge of principles of quantity food preparation.
• Manual skills and endurance necessary to perform work duties.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in food production.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
